Dr. Hassan Naser has over 23 years of diverse experience in industry and academia. He has held various positions, including Senior System Design Engineer at Motorola and AcceLight Networks, and academic positions at Lakehead University. He has also served as the Chair of the Department of Software Engineering at Lakehead University from 2012 to 2021 and acted as both Acting and Interim Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Lakehead from December 2018 to December 2020.
Dr. Naser holds a B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Shiraz University in Iran, an M.A.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada, and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto in Canada. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Software Engineering at Lakehead University.
Dr. Naser’s research interests include Autonomous Vehicles and Cybersecurity, Energy-Efficient Survivable Networks, Broadband Networks and Protocol Design, Simulation Modeling and Performance Evaluation, as well as the Internet of Things and Big Data applications across domains. He has been involved in various leadership roles related to program development, accreditation, academic excellence, and program assessment at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
