Dr. Ejaz awarded Lakehead University Research Chair
Dr. Waleed Ejaz, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been awarded a 2025 Lakehead University Research Chair (NSERC/CIHR).
Dr. Ejaz has been selected based on his successful proposal to the Lakehead University Research Chair Selection Committee for his research program, “Resource Management for Seamless Integration of Non-Terrestrial Networks in 6G and Beyond”.
The members of the LURC Selection Committee were impressed by Dr. Ejaz’s focus on intelligent spectrum management, energy efficient network design, and machine-learning applications for next-generation communication systems as they contribute to the evolution of 6G and beyond.
The LURC Selection Committee members noted his strong research track record and leadership qualities, both as a researcher and as a mentor resulting in the ability to create a positive team for all HQP to learn, be treated equitably, and flourish in a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
The term of Dr. Ejaz’s Lakehead University Research Chair will be from May 1, 2025 to April 30, 2027.
