Dr. Tarokh wins inaugural LU Graduate Mentorship Award
Lakehead University’s Graduate Mentorship Award Selection Committee has selected Dr. Ali Tarokh as the winner of the inaugural Graduate Mentorship Award, which recognizes excellence in graduate supervision and mentorship.
The committee was especially impressed by Dr. Tarokh’s commitment to supporting students in transitioning to careers after the completion of their graduate studies, and for his support for students with disabilities.
There was ample evidence of his commitment to creating an inclusive learning experience for graduate students and supporting students both during their studies, and when they enter the workforce.
As part of this award, Dr. Tarokh will be invited to lead a workshop on graduate supervision and mentorship, and will also be nominated for the Canadian Association for Graduate Studies’ Dr. Suning Wang Award for Outstanding Graduate Mentorship.
