Biography

Shafiqul Hai received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, in 2016. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Lakehead University.

Prior to that he worked at CMC Microsystems (as a Photonic Support Engineer) and Ciena Inc. (as an Electro-optic Hardware Designer). He served as a guest editor for MDPI special Issue on “High-Speed Integrated Silicon Optical Modulators” in 2022. He has authored/coauthored 24 referred publications since 2011. His research has contributed to 4 issued US patents.
