Meet the Lakehead team building a Formula One-style race car in Thunder Bay

Lakehead University’s Thunder Wolf Racing team has been featured on CBC News as they prepare to compete at the Michigan International Speedway against competitors from across the world.

Thunder Wolf Racing is Lakehead University’s Formula SAE team. They are a group of 20 Mechanical Engineering students that are designing and manufacturing a Formula-style race car. 

The student run team undertakes this project every year with the intention of competing at the Formula SAE Collegiate Design Series. 

The competition will be held on May 17 – 20, 2023 in Brooklyn, Michigan. The team will be launching their car for this year’s event in early May.
